Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will not be playing on Thursday night in the team’s third preseason game vs. the Cleveland Browns but the game will feature Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles vs. No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield.
Browns receiver Josh Gordon could also make his preseason debut after rejoining the team earlier this week.
A key battle to watch for the Eagles will be at nickel cornerback as the team seems very open to playing rookie Avonte Maddox over second-year cornerback Sidney Jones.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns play the Eagles on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Stadium. It is the third preseason and the starters on both sides of the ball are expected to play at least the first half.
The Browns’ final preseason game is in Detroit next week, but it’s unlikely we will see the starters at all in that game. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we didn’t even see backup quarterback Baker Mayfield, so this might be the last chance to see him for a while, too.
